Nag Free Zone

I ordered a Nag Free Zone patch and it arrived in the mail today!  I’m so excited.  Sometimes it’s the little things that bring the biggest smile.  Now I just need to decide what to do with it. You can order one for yourself by clicking on the picture.

One of my goals for this blog is to keep it nag-free.  As someone said recently in a comment section on one of the earlier posts, it’s “the little difference that makes the difference” when it comes to housekeeping.  Since I’m a work-in-progress myself, I would never want to make someone feel badly if they couldn’t follow whatever it is that I’m doing.  Do something.  Anything.  Or not.  Hugs to us all either way!  ((((( hugs )))) 🙂

When it comes to cleaning and decluttering, sometimes I think it’s just a matter of taking a little bit of time everyday to focus on the project.  By a little bit of time, I mean even something as short as five or ten minutes.  It’s the little difference that makes the difference.  I need to remember to be careful not to nag at myself, too.

Do you remember the moral from The Tortoise and the Hare?  Slow and steady wins the race.  I want to win the race against the clutter in my house and the clean-up that needs to get caught-up.

So today’s goal for myself is to keep telling myself:

  1. It’s the little difference that makes the difference
  2. Slow and steady wins the race
  3. Do something, anything
  4. Don’t nag at myself or fill my head with a voice saying “shoulds” or “oughts”

And remember how I said I was going to sweep, scrub, and mop the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room floors?  Well … confession time.  I did the bathroom floor.  Only.  LOL!  But today I’ll do the kitchen and laundry room floors.  Procrastinators R US.  😉

Onward and upward!

So what do you think?
